Bring Me Java, Bring Me Joy

Use your feeling, Obi-Wan, and find him you will.

I went with some friends from work yesterday to see the new Star Wars movie. I was excited for this one after hearing Lucus redeems himself from the last. But when I saw Jar-Jar in the last moment of this movie I said “Somebody lightsaber him!” Oh hes annoying. Reading Kari’s post about Revenge of the Sith I felt the same at every point she made. A few people told me Id like this one because theres more of a love story in it. Uh, I have no interest in this love story at all.

Kari said it better than I could: “I never understood why Padme fell for his whiny butt.” I personally would of gone for Oie-Wan, but thats just me. ;)

After all the scene there they kill all of the Jedi’s, I composed myself (no crying at Star Wars movie!) I thought “Alright, I need to go home and watch “Return of the Jedi” so I can be happy again!” It was such a sad sad moment. But, the theater all clapped for Yoda when he laid the smack down. That was fun. I was surprised that they didnt clap when the Star Wars intro music started playing. That happened both times when seeing the first two.

My friend and I were sitting there watching the fight scenes and going “Okay he lives so I need to get unattached to the other guy.” “Yoda has to live so how does he get out of this one?” “Ohhhh they both live but one gets really messed up, how is THAT going to come about?” tee hee. The boys that went with us made fun of me when really “bad” fighting (killing and almost killing) happened because I would cover my eyes.

I had to go to bed shortly after the movie so I didnt want bad dreams. Sue me! A lot of people say there were too many lightsaber fighting. I didnt think there was, maybe because when I think Star Wars, I think lightsaber. Id take lightsaber fighting over the high pitch shooting noise during the flying flights.

So maybe I will make it a mission to watch the first three now in sections (another busy week it looks like). I havnt watch them all in years it seems so it would probably be good to acquaint myself with them. I wonder if the actors who played Luke, Lily and all the other first Star War movies went and saw this last one with real clear picture of “thats me as a baby” or “thats my parents”. Okay probably not, but, its a thought.

R2 was AWESOME in the movie, or maybe Im just partial because hes always been my favorite. But come on, he has the most laughable parts in this movie which was highly needed to relief the sadness that it was.
