Most wonderful time of the year

Going to summer camp marks a time line: summer will soon be over. Making it rather sad for the kids to go summer camp because they know school will soon to follow. Target has their giant section of school supplies out that I of course have peeked through (and maybe bought a packet of index cards. one can never have enough). The itching to go back to school like everyone else didn’t happen this year. Maybe a large portion of my class is done with college so the yearning question to me hasn’t been asked.

That or people have finally gotten the clue. I have never been to New York but I do think of Joe Fox which school supplies are everywhere and the buzy of school is in the air. “I love New York in the fall, makes me want to buy school supplies. Id send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils of I had your name and address.”

Couple days ago I bought some socks. At work the one thing you can kinda have to reflect your own personality to the dress code is your socks. I stocked up on fun pairs of socks when I found this out. So I wasn’t in dyer need of new socks but when I saw these I couldn’t help me self!

I was showing them off at work (because they are so dang cute) and it was brought to my attention how fall colors they were. I realized then I am ready for fall to be here. I’m done with the hot summer days to go away and for cold nights to come (well as cold as it can get here). I used to think the most uncute clothes were fall/winter clothes. Frumpy I believe is the word I felt when I wore sweaters, jeans and closed toed shoes all the time. But after discovering the beauty of scarves and fun winter clothes, its not so ugly! Its rather cute most of the time. In sunny California there are not much of seasons here. So I have to hold onto my pieces of fall: school supplies and fall clothes. Also, next time Im in NC Im going to take Jace up on that drive through Boone to see the falling leaves.
