On Our Way To Crazy

30 before 30. April 10, 2010

Today is April 10. Do you know that means? Do you? It means I turn thirty in exactly four months. THIRTY. FOUR MONTHS. I am not freaking out, not really anyway. So far I am good with thirty. We’ll see how I feel when it actually gets here.

I saw this on Making It Lovely a while back, and I kept meaning to put one together for myself. (Item #31 – stop procrastinating.) I don’t have big giant goals, but I do have a pretty good working list of things I wanted to do. So I fleshed it out and now I’m sharing it with you. Thirty things I want to do before I’m thirty. Hopefully actually putting it out there will help with my accountability. I’ll be posting as I cross things off the list to keep up with my progress. I’m sure it will be thrilling. Wish me luck!

30 Before 30

1. Make fresh pasta from scratch.
2. Roast a whole chicken.
3. Run three miles.
4. Figure out how to curl my hair.
5. Practice Meatless Mondays.
6. Refinish a piece of furniture.
7. Create a photo/art collage wall in our dining room.
8. Grow something edible.
9. Learn how to use my Diana camera.
10. Submit two articles and/or bible studies to youth publications.
11. Make real brisket.
12. Go to the zoo.
13. Line the back of my bookshelves in a cool paper.
14. Make an apple pie from scratch.
15. Make an appliqué t-shirt.
16. Go to a laser concert at the Adventure Science Center.
17. Read five classic novels I haven’t read before.
18. Open an IRA.
19. Go to a drive-in movie.
20. Learn to make sushi.
21. Make baklava from scratch.
22. Write random notes to 30 people.
23. Attend Rock and Roll Trivia Night at Mercy Lounge.
24. Spend a whole day outside with nothing but books and a notepad.
25. Pay for someone’s food in a drive thru.
26. Take a nap in a hammock.
27. Make a piece of jewelry for myself.
28. Put together our wedding album.
29. Attend an art crawl.
30. Go to the Bluebird Café.

So there you go! Lots to do. Some of these are already in the works, others will make me actually make an effort and do something difficult. Any tips on any item will be greatly appreciated. Together we can make it happen. Believe in my dreams. One shining moment.

    Love it.

I may try to do something like this too (I have til November). And our wedding album will be on mine, as well.

How are you going to help me with number 3? Chase me to the Bluebird Cafe?

  6. ScottB Says:

No I’m not going to chase you. I’m going to prod you while you are pulling me in my rickshaw. That’s what I want to do by the time I’m 30 (in 9 days.) But seriously I enjoy running and I am willing to help.

  7. Kari Says:

I can help you out. Visit me. I will take you to the zoo for free. I have a pass. And I know how to do the zoo up RIGHT.

Also, we have a hammock. In which you can nap while you are here. DONE AND DONE.

AND we have the pasta attachment for our Kitchenaid mixer. Clearly you should visit. So it is written, so shall it be done.

give me some notice on #23. That sounds like “special trip should be made” type stuff. I think I’ll be back in town in September.
