I haven’t been sick in a while. Actually, it’s been almost a year since my post-Ethiopia I-think-I’m-going-to-die sickness.
But on Easter Sunday, I woke up sick. Like, really sick. Like, throwing up 8,564 times sick. I could go on, but I won’t.
Here’s the one good thing about this sickness though. My mom was here. And moms are the only ones who can make you feel better when you’re sick. Well, besides a bottle of something laced with Codeine. We’ll just say moms are the only ones who can legally make you feel better when you’re sick.
The amazing thing is, she didn’t even really do anything. She let me lay my head in her lap, with no regard for germs. She placed her cool hand on my forehead. Got me ice chips and a cold wash cloth. Rubbed my back.
So, I’m sorry I was sick while my mom was visiting. But she was the perfect cure.

of all things i’ve read lately, this is most beautiful.
Moms are awesome! (But so are you!)
I WAS ONLY HAPPY TO BE THERE FOR YOU WHEN YOU WERE SICK.. DIDN’T YOU WRAP MY FOOT WHEN I HURT IT. I LOVE YOU REGARDLESS IF YOU’RE THROWING UP OR WHATEVER. JUST LOVE YOU MOM
