moving on…i hope

By david On May 25th, 2004

i simply cannot wait to get back on the stage with my band. i won’t get the chance till june 12th, and then again the following week on the 19th. and then that very well could be it for mayor dave as we know it. grady, our lead guitarist, is moving to new orleans in july to attend seminary in the fall. it’s disappointing because we’re fiiinnnally beginning to gel and really know each other. finally beginning to write some pretty sweet music. this past few months, we’ve gotten to practice only a few times, but when we have, we’ve been really prolific, besides sounding good. it’s funny because when we “practice,” we don’t really “practice.” we just run through stuff and goof-off, and then all-of-sudden, at a show, we sound amazing. i’m not generally cocky, or at least i try not to be, but i really do think we have the potential to be really, really good. not necessarily successful, or wonderfully so, but good. and that would be very satisfying. it is still, and i hope it still will be once grady leaves, but it is just sad to see him go. i need to trust God a lot more with the whole thing. it’s such a blessing just to be in a band right now, and a good one, one that can get paid to play, and i sincerely appreciate the opportunity to do this at this point in my life. i want it to continue, and i know God will take care of it. that’s comforting.

than we can ask or imagine.

So, I pray he does that for you.
