Aaron and the Iraq war

My son Aaron was born the day after the first bombs officially fell in Baghdad. I kept the newspaper from the day he was born with the headline ” US attacks Iraq’. So I was thinking a few things. I was wondering how old Aaron will be when this war finally ends.?I was also thinking with the cost of the war something like a billion dollars a day, actually I have no idea what it is costs, but I thought i heard that. Aaron as of today is 810 days old. I guess the next question that follows is how do they afford to keep this war funded. This is something I have wanted to figure out. Is there a point where the US says, we’ve run out of money? The US economy doesn’t seem to be affected by the cost of the war, unless I have missed something.
Say the war cost a trillion dollars, think of where that money could have gone, say to end hunger or poverty? Hmmm….

E-Race

I haven’t written in a while. Actually I did start a post and hit a button and all my writing was gone, so i guess that wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway life is going pretty well, I am glad it feels summer-like here, it’s my favourite time of year.

Kyle is slowly sleeping longer at night, he still has a way to go, but we can see it happening slowly. He is 2 months tomorrow and he is already at 16 lbs! Football player perhaps?

I am going to see The Doves in concert next Thursday, it was my fathers day gift from my wife, which was nice. I can’t believe The Doves are not more popular than they are. It seems they could be this big band, so it’s nice to see them in a small venue.

Anyway onto the title of my topic. The only show I really watch on TV besides the news is Amazing Race. I have watched it since it began in 2001. I have been saying I wanted to plan my own race someday. I kept putting it off, but it was always in the back of my mind. Then I did this Bell City Race which is kind of like Amazing Race in your city. It was pretty hard, but fun as well, and then it got me thinking more that I wanted to plan my own race. So I sent out an email to some friends to see if they wanted to participate and I got quite a bit of interest in this. So now I am in the planning process. It will be a one day race on September 10, 2005 in the Vancouver area, it will cover a lot of the the Vancouver area and the suburbs. It will be a good mix of physical and mental challenges along with riddles to figure out. It will be a lot of fun!

So if any of my 2 readers are interested in doing this let me know. :-)
