Double my age

Winter has quickly sprung on us this past weekend as we received 2 feet of snow. Aaron is quite enjoying the snow, but Kyle is a little apprehensive about it all. On Sunday we all went out to play in the snow and had some good fun.
When it comes to the roads it’s a different story. I don’t mind driving in the snow, but there are a lot of nervous people out there. I was driving home yesterday and I passed by an elderly care home and I noticed that a few of the people who lived there wanted to get out for a walk. But since the sidewalk wasn’t very friendly they were using their walker on the road because it was clear. They were pretty much on the side of the road, so it wasn’t too big of a deal to drive around them. I figured they were probably in their mid-70’s. I did a quick calculation and thought that was double my age. I felt a little better when I really thought about it and double my age would only be 68, but in a few years double my age will be in the mid-70’s. Then I was thinking about half my age, 17, and I am sure that to most 17 year olds double their age seems like it would be ancient. I suppose it’s all relative and that you are only as old as you feel and one day I too could be pushing a walker down the middle of the road during winter.

Right now though, I feel like I am 25 and it’s cold outside.
