Peeved pets
In my last post I wrote about my pet peeve of people sending me Christmas cards that are generic. I then browsed my archives and I saw a post calledChristmas Pet Peeve that I had written 2 years ago about the exact same thing. First it was kind of embarrassing saying the same thing over again. Then I started thinking that this pet peeve of mine will never change, unless I can put out some mass bulletin to any and everyone I know that I do not accept generic Christmas cards, which would probably result in only a handful of Christmas cards.
So is this pet peeve really a problem with me? I can’t really say that it would only be my problem.
I know I have created pet peeves for others, mostly my wife, and sometimes over her kind and gentle words:-) which get repeated over and over, I usually end up changing slowly, ok maybe a little slower than that.
I wish there was some nice way to end this post, like I will never let pet peeves bug me again and I will never be a pet peeve to someone else, but ya that ain’t gonna happen.
I think sometimes focusing on eternal prospectives helps, some things are important, some are not, some things can be easily changed others not so quickly.
Maybe I should write a list of my pet peeves and look to see what category they fit in.
If only the world would revolve around me, or is that being too selfish?
