“Well, fellas” I said, “I guess I’m taking off.”
And with that I was out of there. Forever, Lord willing. I left at 12:30, and within an hour they were calling with questions. This morning already I have received 2 calls and several emails asking about things.
My favorite question was “What do you do with your computers at the end of the day….turn them off?”
“Well, I left them on…but , uh, you can turn them off if you’d like.”
Yep. Those would be your options.
When I was working my notice some people said things that implied “Any body can do this…it’s not that hard.’ The truth is, however, that NO ONE actually knows what I did. No one. I know this because they would say “What is it you do, exactly?” Oh sane individual said, “Everyone keeps saying ‘oh, I know a guy’…but what you did can’t be all that easy.”
He is correct. I just knew what I was doing…and how I did it. But they’re welcome to jump in there now and do it however they’d like.
It really hasn’t sunk in yet that I don’t actually have to go back. I assume I’ll start to feel it when I haven’t been in a week or so. In the meantime, though, I’m waking up to the sun shining through the blinds onto the bed.
I missed the sun.
The sun is glad to see you too.

Call Tony and tell him you’re coming back.
That would be the best AFD joke ever.
