compulsive compartmentalization

Captured thoughts…on exhibit in the zoo that is the blog-o-sphere.

There is no such thing on earth as an uninteresting subject; the only thing that can exist is an uninterested person. - G.K. Chesterton

For what it’s worth, this morning Giant Homer had deflated, but it was too dark to take a picture. So you’ll have to take my word for it.

I spent the first part of my day trying to re-work a paper on Darwin for one of my history classes. I didn’t mind doing it…but I drug my feet on it nonetheless. I’ve got a ton of stuff to do in the next two months and I’m having a hard time forcing myself to sit down and get things done. I want to…the spirit is willing..but the flesh, on the other hand… The intertia of my desire to be lazy is hard to overcome. But I’m making a little progress. I’ve got to finish up my comic for next month. (for anyone who’s interested, there’s some preview art up at the GravyBoy site.) I’ve also got a 25 page research paper due at the beginning of December, for which I have a metric buttload of reading to do.

One metric buttload.

That’s 344 degrees Kelvin for those of you who don’t know science.

One of my secret wishes is that I were a more voracious reader. I like reading, I really do. But I go through periods of reading then I get caught up in something else…and keep putting it off. Then come back to it..wishing I hadn’t stopped. This is fine, except now that I’m in school it’s not working out so well. I guess what I really need is the discipline to be balanced in my time. Maybe that’s called time-managment…but I refuse to call it that. It sounds too businessy. And I’ll have none of that in this house, young man.
