As of yesterday, I am officially staring down the last year of my 20’s. And I think that’s cool in some ways. I’ve never really been one to be afraid of growing old, but that’s probably due to ignorance more than anything else. There’s probably a small part of me somewhere that still thinks I’m invincible…knee injuries not withstanding.
We slept in yesterday, then headed to Barnes & Noble where I worked most of the afternoon on a drawing to sell on Ebay. Sarah went to run some birthday related errands while I sat and drank coffee. Just after lunchtime Alisa stopped by and hung out with us for the rest of the afternoon. I don’t know about them, but I enjoyed myself. For several hours I drew, Sarah studied, and Alisa knitted. We were a very task-oriented corner.
That night we had fondue at the Baumann’s with another couple. Sarah and I both had a great time and want to give many many thanks to Mike and Kari for doing all that. It was a blast! Of course, the subject turned to Synesthesia (see the comments to this post), which naturally led to a new game called “what color is this song?”
I knew it was coming.
Overall, I think it was one of the most enjoyable birthday’s I can remember.
We invented the funnest game ever!
