compulsive compartmentalization

Captured thoughts…on exhibit in the zoo that is the blog-o-sphere.

There is no such thing on earth as an uninteresting subject; the only thing that can exist is an uninterested person. - G.K. Chesterton

The next two weeks are going to be busy.

The inks are done on my next book, and all that’s left is dropping in the graytones. Of course, it’s never as simple as just “dropping in the graytones.” My friend Danny is doing most of the graytone flats on this book (flats are just solid colors, with no shading or highlights) and that is saving me weeks worth of work. I’m going back over them and putting in the shadows, highlights, and details.

Last night I managed to finish up 2 1/2 pages. Which was good, considering half the night was spent at Olive Garden for an early anniversary dinner. (We’ve been married almost 7 years, but that’s another post.) I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I’m going to be staying up late working on this thing until it’s done. I’ve been pretty stressed with stuff lately, but that’s okay. Two more weeks then both the book and the semester will be over. I can recover then.

In the meantime, if you need me, I’ll be at my computer…bathing a make-believe world in dazzling shades of gray.
