compulsive compartmentalization

Captured thoughts…on exhibit in the zoo that is the blog-o-sphere.

There is no such thing on earth as an uninteresting subject; the only thing that can exist is an uninterested person. - G.K. Chesterton

Ever have those days where you feel you were getting a ton of things accomplished with almost no effort? Such was today.

After trying to shower only to find the hot water had mysteriously disappeared, I threw on a hat and met Jimmy for breakfast. Then, as if carried along by some current of productivity I cranked out a commission. Look! Someone finally asked for something other than a girl character!

Impulse!

What to do then but get started on the next chapter of my new graphic novel? Oh, you haven’t seen the first chapter? Look! A book that you should buy to support starving artists!

How do you get it? Ask me.

After all that I ran. Since it’s going to get colder again tomorrow (it’s been in the 70s here all week) I figured I should get my running in before we get assaulted with what has become the bane of my running the last two months. Bitter. Friggin’. Cold.

I’ve been making it a point to eat a little more, since I had slacked off for a while (I know, slacking off eating sounds weird.) I had begun to think the reason a lot of my runs the last couple of weeks were hard is because I cut back on the carbs a little. (my pants have gotten a little more snug, but cutting back on eating while training for a marathon is…unwise.) I just wasn’t taking in enough energy for the amount of running I was doing. So I made the sacrifice and ate more. I suffered through various tasty snacks. Then, yesterday I ran 2 miles and felt great. Today I ran and was going to stop at 5, but I felt so good I ended up going 9. That’s the farthest I’ve ever gone.

I can feel it now that I’ve been sitting down for a while and eaten dinner, but I still feel pretty good. I probably won’t get to go out again this week since the weather is about to turn to poop again.

It just dawned on me how appropriate the drawing is for my day.
