New House Plans

Here are the new and revised house plans.

In the new basement plans, there is a hallway that will double as a playroom and schoolroom, and a bedroom. There is also a 3/4 bath and room for firewood and a wood shop.

On the first floor - the woodstove was moved to the center of the house. Basically, the whole design was flipped around, giving a longer living room space. The bedroom door is now off of the livingroom and not the kitchen. There is a larger master bath off of the bedroom, and the closets were taken away (we’re going to get wall-to-wall cabinets and storage units instead).

The loft now has a larger bathroom and larger bedrooms because of the roof line. Instead of a steep roof with dormers (expensive) we are now opting for more of a saltbox type of roof. The roof line will slope down over the living room, but only slightly slope down over the back bedrooms. This will provide the most living space for the least cost.

The direction of the house has changed too. Now the long side is facing south, with the west side burried in the hill. We get the most sun through our south windows, so hopefully this will warm up the living space.
