I’ve been busy the past two weeks working on mosaics. I’ve got one for my Aunt Margaret and one for my Aunt Barbara both completed except for the grouting. I’ve also been working on a large piece (36×12″) with a birch tree on it.

The twin birch mosaic (12×12″) is for my Aunt Margaret (hope you like it!).

Ahhh, birch trees…come, Spring, come (seasons are capitalized, aren’t they?)

I wanted to be… a lumberjack!

Leaping from tree to tree, as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. The Giant Redwood. The Larch. The Fir! The mighty Scots Pine! The lofty flowering Cherry! The plucky little Apsen! The limping Roo tree of Nigeria. The towering Wattle of Aldershot! The Maidenhead Weeping Water Plant! The naughty Leicestershire Flashing Oak! The flatulent Elm of West Ruislip! The Quercus Maximus Bamber Gascoigni! The Epigillus! The Barter Hughius Greenus!

With my best buddy by my side, we’d sing! Sing! Sing!

Sorry, that was a little out of control.

Is all the snow getting to your brain, Roger?

I think we’re very, very far away from Spring here!

It’s all over the place here. It can’t decide if it’s early summer or winter here.

Hannah, I really really like the big birch mosaic! I can’t wait to see how it looks finished!

And after reading Roger’s post I was surprised that he didn’t conclude with “Sing Ho for the life of a bear!”

I really am falling in love with that piece. Unfortunately, I’m held up with it right now. I ran out of a color and I have to order more. I’ll post more pictures as I go along.

wow - love it!!
we moved in on Saturday - I built a wooden rack! (Didn’t live with you guys all those years for nothing!)- and I have designated the “sacred wall spot” set aside for the birch trees. Thanks!
