The Irrational Season

It’s time for one of my favorite bits of poetry:

This is the irrational season
Where love blooms bright and wild.
Had Mary been filled with reason
There’d have been no room for the child.

    I have begun my 26th annual reading of The Irrational Season. When I first read it so many years ago it was as if Madeleine had looked inside me and put words to the jumble that was there. “To A Long-loved Love” speaks most to me this year…
