Through a Glass, Darkly

Lazy Sunday.

Though yesterday was a “snow” day, for some reason or other, Mike and I didn’t watch Pride and Prejudice, our usual tradition. I blame the Olympics. The good news is that I’ve been watching it today (and reading), and Mr. Darcy is currently paused on my television set (Mike: “Did you do that on purpose?” Kari: “Nope, but it worked out well, didn’t it?”). I think I’m gonna go hang out with him some more. My goal is to get halfway through my book tonight, too. Only 20 more pages . . . it’s been a productive evening. And, yes, Mike has homework. How could you tell? hehe.

(Oh, and only nine days until the new Pride and Prejudice is out on DVD! Hooray!)

ooooh - are we going to have a P&P party? When Susan gets back, we’ll have to have another girls day and watch it! :) (and see her pics of Ecuador!)

  2. mike Says:

ya know, there are guys who like the movie as well and who would like to be included in watching it with others.

  3. mike Says:

unless the guys want to unite and watch p&p together with no girls allowed. any takers?

  4. chad hedrick Says:

i’m just glad the olympics which only happen once every 4 years won out over a dvd. God Bless America!

  5. Kari Says:

hehe. Chad Hedrick, why are you posting on my blog? Aren’t you busy feuding with Shani Davis?

  6. chad hedrick Says:

i keep telling people i don’t want to talk about that, but since this is your blog…..i am busy feuding with shani. its very tiresome. i’m going to try to concentrate on the 1500 and the 10K, those are the races that i have left.

shani STILL should have skated the pursuit, it was like i was the only good skater out there…esp with that guy who lagged behind on the last lap, we didn’t even make it out of the quarters!

  7. Kari Says:

That guy? You don’t even know your teammate’s name? Dude, that is so not cool.

How is the feud affecting your preparation? Do you feel mentally ready for the races you’ve got coming up?

  8. chad hedrick Says:

whatever, i was going for the 5 golds, i don’t need to know their names, just if they can skate good!

you know, it has affected my preparation…like the other night for the 1000m, all i was thinking on that little infield ice ring was “why didn’t shani skate the pursuit? why does the press keep asking me questions? why does bob costas’ hair always look the same?” on one hand, it helps me not to be nervous, because obviously i’m not thinking about trying not to mess up in the race, etc, but on the other hand, i’m not concentrating to remember my technique…though with one gold already, i feel pretty good about that.

who thought a speed skater could type so much!

  9. Kari Says:

I think the question everyone wants to know is whether your gold medal has helped you get babes?

  10. chad hedrick Says:

the dutch call me the paris hilton of speed skating….and they called me that BEFORE i won the gold. ;)

  11. Kari Says:

Chad Hedrick didn’t NEED any help. Awesome.

Well, I was going to say that you should stop by if you ever visit Joey Cheek in Greensboro, but the Paris Hilton comparison . . . kind of grosses me out. No offense.

  12. chad hedrick Says:

well, i mean, honestly, i don’t like the PH reference either. but its the dutch, all they see of american lifestyle is PH. i just like to go out and have fun, but they see that as partying like PH.

and i’ll definitely be stopping by JC’s on the way back to houston. he’s one cool cat.

I’d like to apologize to Mike for any unintended offense with my ‘girls only’ remark - how could I forget that Kari is married to such a wonderfully cultured, sensitive man?!?! :)
So maybe our P&P party can be co-ed…hehehe…

  14. Kari Says:

Wow, Mike, she knows about the foreskin cheesecake and she still called you cultured. You’d better take her up on the offer. ;)

Chad Hedrick: Do you actually KNOW Paris Hilton?

  15. chad hedrick Says:

no, i don’t. do you know?

  16. Kari Says:

Well, maybe you’ll get to meet her. I’m not friends with Paris since she and Nicole split. Nicole won’t even let me say Paris’s name.

  17. mr blazer Says:

I just wanted to be considered. Co-ed is great.
