Music moves her so…

Yaaaaay! Joe passed me the musical baton. And was rather impatient about my completing it. Punk.

Five songs that mean a lot to you?
“Faith My Eyes†– Derek Webb
–very few songs remind me so vividly of a time in my life as this one (the summer I went to GSW)…I think the lyrics “but if I must go/things, I trust, will be better off without me/but I don’t want to know/life is better off a mystery†might very well have changed my life, and certainly changed the way I view the way that God works in my life.
“My Stupid Mouth†– John Mayer
–Story of my freaking life. And one of the few reasons I tolerate Mayer.
“Mmmbop†– Hanson
–No, I’m serious, I absolutely LOVE this song. It makes me giddishly happy, and has for years and years. Plus, it reminds me of pretty much all of my favorite people in my life.
“To Say Goodbye†– Justin Rosolino
–I used to refuse to say goodbye to people…and yeah, I definitely could have written this song at several points in my life
“Latter Days†– Over the Rhine
–I don’t think anything can be said about this song
Top five albums?
Caedmon’s Call – 40 Acres
–This album is just incredible, and there’s not a song on there that I don’t love
Justin Rosolino – Music
–Even 5 years later, I continue to be mesmerized by how awesome (and ridiculously funny) one guy and a guitar can be
Sandra McCracken – Gypsy Flat Road
–I don’t have a favorite song from this cd, not because it keeps changing and they’re all so good, but because each song needs to others to be complete and understood…and that is what I consider an incredible album
SpencerAcuff – Live at Cat’s Cradle
–I wouldn’t say that this is my favorite SA cd, but I definitely feel like it captures the guys real well. Plus, I played this and only this for about 3 straight months last spring
Indelible Grace – Indelible Grace
–There are actually some songs on here that I don’t really care for in the least bit, but this was the album that made me fall in love with hymns
Last album bought?

Have you heard Justin Rosolino’s new cd, Wonderlust? It’s really good

Katey, I most definately would. It’s less raw that “Music,” of course, but it’s really well done. I like it a lot, and this is coming from someone who also likes “Music” a lot, too. The new version of “Legacy” is quite beautiful, and the recording of “St. Francis” is probably one of my favorites.
On a side note, Rosolino produced my friend’s band’s debut album earlier this year, and it’s really good, too
It’s making the rounds around Nashville, and a number of big people in the industry are liking it. I can give you a listen if you’re interested.
Off of that tangent, though, I think the new Rosolino cd is definately worth it.
Thanks for leaving a note on my blog.
