A future Tolkien Fan

I just couldn’t resist. This is an unretouched (really!) photo of my newest grandchild. What more can I say?

Pictures!

Monday, August 23rd, 2004

OK, I’m counting on the fact that pictures are worth a thousand words…. this link will take you to some pictures of Seámus Edwyn and his family… nothing fancy, no titles, etc. Most everything is self-explanatory. The midwives (Jill and Tracy) are also in some of the photos (Jill has dark hair and glasses, Tracy [...]

It’s a Boy!!!

Sunday, August 22nd, 2004

Today, August 22, 2004, at 2:15 pm little Seámus Edwyn Walden entered the world. He is a big boy: 9 lbs 11 ounces! Hannah and the baby are doing very well. I’ll post more after everyone gets settled a little bit.

Three weeks and counting

Wednesday, August 18th, 2004

No, not how many weeks Hannah is past her due date. That’s how long until we begin our first real classes at Westminster. Mark is gathering information about our Fall courses from students who’ve taken the classes. We will be taking Systematic Theology, Intro to Apologetics, Intro to New Testament, and Dynamics of Biblical [...]

Word to the Unwise

Sunday, August 15th, 2004

… because the Wise will already know all this. Most of these comments are in response to having to deal with the estate of my aunt, who recently died.

Still Waiting

Thursday, August 12th, 2004

Yup, we’re still waiting for that baby to arrive! Hannah’s original due date put her at 14 days late yesterday. But after a visit to the midwife and refiguring gestational charts, she was rescheduled to a due date of August 4th. That means she is now only (!!) 8 days late. Actually, that has kind [...]

The Waiting Game

Friday, August 6th, 2004

Well, while we wait (and wait) for Hannah’s baby to come, here is a list of some of the things we are doing to occupy our time in Maine:

watching Moose (OK, we only saw one in the yard)

Painting Éva’s toes “pretty” (as she calls them) with nailpolish (it took Hannah almost a whole day to [...]

Can You Hear Me Now?

Sunday, August 1st, 2004

I have spent more than 8 hours (so far) this week on the phone with our new phone carrier (I’ll leave their name out of this for now…. but it does have a “V” in it). Let’s just say that some customer service and technical support people are more creative problem-solvers than others. We are [...]

A Month of a Week

Sunday, August 1st, 2004

It is hard to believe that only a week has passed since we drove the truck away from Charlottesville and unloaded it in Philadelphia. The past week has been full of more experiences, emotions and tasks than should be legal.
Saying goodbye as we loaded the truck in a deluge of rain was perhaps fitting. [...]
