Still Waiting

Yup, we’re still waiting for that baby to arrive! Hannah’s original due date put her at 14 days late yesterday. But after a visit to the midwife and refiguring gestational charts, she was rescheduled to a due date of August 4th. That means she is now only (!!) 8 days late. Actually, that has kind of let everyone give a little sigh of relief. After all, va was 10 days late, so really, we’re still ahead of the game. It’s all a matter of perspective!

So I have been spending as much time as possible studying Greek as we wait. I’m encouraged and hopeful that by the beginning of September I’ll be prepared for that exam. Mark is enjoying his Greek class and has even started a study group with some of his fellow classmates. In between memorizing paradigms and vocabulary, Mark found enough time to send me a special care package. What a nice surprise! While Greenville, Maine is wonderful for seeing red fox, nesting eagles, falcons, and snakes there is not a DARK chocolate bar to be found. And Mark knows that I like the darkest chocolate I can get. Thanks, hon! I just can’t wait to get back to a Whole Foods store to get the yogurt I like and a perfectly baked croissant.

I guess we’ll kick back and watch the Olympics…. while Hannah tries to NOT get the gold medal for long labors. We all know the baby will be the gold medal winner of our hearts though! We’ll let you see pictures as soon as the little one arrives.

You know your husband has been too absorbed in Greek if…he didn’t even know that the Olympics were starting until he read it in his wife’s blog!

Gee, weren’t the Olympics in Athens the whole reason we are studying Greek?

I obviously don’t know you well but I can hardly wait for that baby to get here. Tell your daughter I’m praying for a quick, safe delivery!

Thanks, Deb, for your prayers! We sure do hope the baby comes soon…but mostly safely (the baby is being born at home with a midwife).j
