Home, Sweet Home (I think)
Well, after a stop in NJ on our way home from Maine, I have finally arrived back to my home. It doesn’t really feel like home quite yet. I am still trying to recover from “nomad” status. After 6 weeks away I don’t even know where to find my clothes (oh, that’s right, they aren’t unpacked yet from the move from Virginia).
Tomorrow I hope to register for classes at WTS (”real” registration is next week, but I am going to try to register early due to the situation with my aunt’s death). Today we purchased all our textbooks (thanks go to my violin students and other friends for those gift cards for the Bookstore… they REALLY came in handy!) Boy, do I love bookstores. I did have to restrain myself and put off getting that grammar book for Ugaritic.
I plan to stay home for a full 3 days before returning to NJ to continue to settle my aunt’s estate and empty out her apartment. Classes start at WTS next Thursday (September 9th). Hopefully I will get to set up my study area and find my clothes. We did manage a trip to Ikea today to get the missing pieces for my bookshelf. Tomorrow is Student Orientation. We’ll fill you in on that later.
I truly enjoyed all my time in Maine (thanks Hannah and Philip for letting me be part of your family….and thanks Éva for being my morning buddy) and getting to see all my grandchildren together for a weekend (Sarah, you deserve a gold medal for making such a long trip just to see all of us. It was GREAT to see Maggie and Ethan play with their Maine cousins.)
Yes, I am truly blessed to be able to see my children’s children…

Karyn & Mark,
Glad to see you all together. I’m so glad for the web (and your mastery of it!) I don’t feel like you’ve gone so far away (well us either). Miss you!
