Baby Watch: Day One
We have arrived in Maine after driving through the night. We did take a break to stop and shop at 3:30 in the morning at L.L. Bean.
Hannah told me that it was now Spring in Maine and that I should leave my snowpants at home. So I did. Stupid me. It’s forecasted to snow every day next week. We’re figuring that as soon as the snow dumps, the baby will come. The midwife says “don’t worry, that’s what four wheel drive vehicles are for.” (Did I mention that this is Hannah’s second home birth? Actually, she’s just following tradition. Both she and her sister were born at home.)
I’m not too worried. Weather forecasting up here is something that is done to help pass the time. So the forecast will probably change about six times between now and tomorrow anyway.
Hannah is (so far) forbidding photos, but I hope to get some photos up of Éva and Seámus soon. We’re having a blast playing hide and seek and dressup (the photo of me with a tutu on my head with a purple fuzzy crown and various scarves will, unfortunately, not be available for internet distribution).
Hopefully by tomorrow we will be caught up on sleep and out of the “fog.” Stay tuned for more info as we wait for the baby to arrive.
Anyone want to take a guess on when the baby will arrive, and if it is a boy or girl? Hannah knows but she is not telling (and she is a rock).
