We won

Mark (probably in a fit of delirium) finally decided to acknowledge his losing battle with “the dark side” and switch over to using my old PowerBook. Yes, he took the leap. Personally, I think the ads finally got to him and he just wanted to start looking cool.

He was having fun moving all his iTunes music over and figuring out open source applications for Macs and wondered why he didn’t do this earlier… and then it dawned on him. BibleWorks. Oh no. He didn’t figure on having to give up BibleWorks. Anyone know of an open source PC simulator for the Mac?

Karyn: They just don’t exist for the old PowerPC-based Macs. However, there’s Boot Camp and Parallels both for the Intel-based Macs.

Mark: This is not an excuse to buy a Macbook. ;)

That was the only “ouch!” so far. Asking this seminarian to give up BibleWorks is like asking a paraplegic to do without his wheelchair.

good luck! and welcome to the light/cool/smart/good side of computers, mark !

Oh, Rebecca, I use Accordance all the time. But Mark already owns BibleWorks, so the issue is two-fold: money (can’t justify buying another copy of Accordance when he has BibleWorks) and preference (he’s used to using BibleWorks… although I would try to talk anyone into using Accordance, I think it has many features that outperform other Bible software).
