the glory and the horror

It’s amazing how much money you can spend when you’re moving. I’m just thinking about the stuff that my parents have already spotted for the new place down in Dallas. Vacuum cleaner, this one really cool pot/frying pan combo thing. It’s actually very versatile. And then when we get down there, I’ll need a bed and desk, bookshelves probably, as well. And I need to go down to Houston to pick up stuff as well. And I might be getting DSL, maybe a cell phone. Lots of those things are to be decided. And that’s not even that $200+ purchase I mentioned earlier. What do I really need? What do I merely want? What is merely enjoying some of the blessings God has given me, and how much is just selfish desires for more cool toys?

I know things are cheap in China, but this cheap??

I am struggling with whether or not to make a fairly expensive ($200+) purchase. I don’t need this item, but I’d like it, and I can think of many good, practical uses. I’d get a lot of mileage out of this purchase, I think. Hmmmmm.

I like Texas and all, but this is just particularly pitiful. I can’t believe there are people who do stupid things like this. I really can’t think of a good way to describe this, except that it’s INCREDIBLY idiotic. It’s an argument about who would go to heaven and who would go to hell, and a guy ends up shooting his friend. FOOLISH!
