Tag, I’m it.

Published by under general

Sam tagged me. I know that I haven’t been tagged in a long time, for any of these survey dealies. I also haven’t posted anything in a while.

1. Four Jobs:
a. Piano teacher. I really only had a few students, mostly neighbor kids, and that all ended at the end of high school.
b. Random assistant in a law office. I did almost everything. Filed, photocopied, stuffed envelopes, typed up various documents, moved boxes, ran stuff to the bank, delivered stuff to other offices in town, helped troubleshoot computers. I probably got coffee once or twice, too. I think that’s when I also started my Jamba Juice addiction.
c. Cashier’s office at Rice University. I was a student clerk. Played with lots of other people’s money.
d. Student supervisor at the student center. That’s here in Dallas. Just about done with that job.

2. Four Things I Wish I Had Done Earlier:
a. Married Kathleen. Planning a wedding during third year is not fun. Do not do it if you can avoid it. Getting married sooner would have been better for all involved in so many ways.
b. Get scuba certified. But it’s happening now, so I’m not complaining. Thank you, Kathleen!

Kenmore, Whirlpool and Maytag, oh my!

Published by under general

We’ve done the small kitchen appliance thing before, but now we’re making a move into the realm of large home appliances with our upcoming move to Houston. We’ll be needing a washer and dryer, and Kenmore Elite has this new large capacity, non-traditional agitator system that uses about half the energy and water per load. It’s quite the feat. It’s called the Oasis Canyon Capacity Top Loader. This ain’t no washboard in a bucket. There’s also a corresponding dryer that’s supposed to be nice and energy-efficient as well.

Thankfully, the refrigerator is staying, and it’s a nice new one, too. The range/stove and microwave are also coming with the house. We won’t have to deal with those departments at Sears. I think 2 large appliances is enough for me.
