Today marks the 5th anniversary of meeting my lovely wife in Dallas, at FunFest of all places.

I love you, wife!

I actually don’t have much to say, but I thought I’d just post to let everyone know that I’m still around, and that I’m still thinking about things.

As an update, we’re both now second-year residents, and things are a little better than they were as interns. Kathleen LOVED her infectious disease rotation, and is currently excited about looking into different programs around the country for her fellowship training. I’m liking a little more outpatient medicine. I feel like I actually know a thing or two, now. I’m a little apprehensive about some increased responsibilities I’ll be having in September and October, since I’ll have interns under me, but it’s all part of the trip through residency.

We got to go back to CA to visit the family for a bit in late July, which was very nice. It’s hard because we only get to spend so much time with them. I wish we had more vacation, and more time just to spend with both of our families. It’s tough living so far away from them.

Anyway, I hope everyone’s having a great summer. We made it through the latest round of rain just fine, and our backyard is holding up nicely, although one of the crepe myrtles has been looking a little drier than I’d like. At least it’s not a swamp back there.
