The words we use

Published by philber under culture and society, theology

I do believe we do a disservice when we use good words for bad things. I think good words for good things and bad words for bad things. I always hate it when I hear “Hey, so-and-so had an affair.” What does that mean? “He slept with someone he’s not married to.” That’s not an affair. Prom is an affair; homecoming is an affair. Right? THAT is adultery.

Mark Driscoll and Birth Control

Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill in Seattle handles the question of birth control quite well in a recent sermon. I highly recommend this to all Christians. He has done his research and covers a lot of ground, so be ready for quite the ride if you haven’t thought much about this issue in the past.

Go to Sermons -> Topical Series -> Religion Saves.. -> Week 1.

Foolish United Airlines

Published by philber under general

In case you haven’t heard, United Airlines has decided to charge extra for that 2nd piece of checked baggage if you’re a regular joe flying domestically with the unrefundable economy fares. Don’t believe me?

See it for real, here.

Also, for your benefit, email them by way of this page.

Let them know this is stupid.
