Meeting new babies
Friday, September 22nd, 2006Emma’s umbililcal cord came off yesterday while Mike was changing her diaper. Although it’s too early to tell, we think that she is going to have an inny. Emma’s Aunty Leah (my sister) is coming over after school to visit her brand new neice. Leah is beside herself with excitement. I’m excited just to see my sister again because i havent seen her for a while.
Her Uncle Sam (yup, she has an Uncle Sam) will not get to meet her until the end of October. We sent him some great pictures of her though. I know that he will enjoy them.
It is so much fun to see people’s reaction to a newborn; especially as you walk down the street. I think my favorite has been the woman who ran into a parked car because she was trying to get a look at Emma. Rhea and I were on our way down to our landlords (who by the way absolutely loved her) and all of a sudden this lady ran into a rear view mirror!
I am very sad that my 2 youngest sisters do not get to meet Emma until they are older. I have no way to get them over here without Brenda and Jim. I honestly wish that they did not know about her. They are not even supposed to, except one of my teachers at Normandale spilled the beans to my parents. You see, he sends his kids to Trinity High School too and it kind of slipped out of his damn mouth to my parents. Now I have to face the dilemma of telling my siblings they cant see her. I really dont want to turn them against their parents at such a young age, although its not my fault they cant see her. Thankfully, Leah has agreed to help me tell them they cant see her for now.
