My life so often borders on the chaotic. And it’s my own fault.
I am disorganized, undisciplined and a procrastinator. This leads to a chaotic life, in which I am always losing things, always a step behind and always doing things at the last possible moment.
I don’t take this to the extreme. I always pay my bills on time, and check the oil in my car, and get to work on time. Things that are super important get done on time. But the things that aren’t so important, like keeping my room clean, or returning my library books in a timely manner, finishing the crocheted baby blanket that I started when my friend first got pregnant with her now 16 month old son, I do not make a priority.
Sometimes I wish that I were the type of person who was and had to have every little thing in order or I would go crazy. But the fact is that I”m pretty laid back and I don’t usually mind that my life is in disarray.
Except for today. It was really annoying me. And I made a resolution to be more organized and more disciplined and less of a procrastinator. It lasted all of 5 minutes.
My name is Rhonda. I am blessed to live in a beautiful place out in the country with my wonderful husband. In addition to our "real" jobs (I work at a garden center and he is a teacher), we have a small farm where we raise vegetables, eggs and chickens to sell at local Farmer's Markets. We are currently fixing up/remodeling a house into which we will soon be moving...hopefully. In my free time, (what is that?) I enjoy traveling, cooking, crafty projects, reading and watching the sun set on the hills.
You don’t return library books on time?!
Just teasing. It’s good to return library books late. The librarians can get raises!
Rhonda, I relate with this post very much. Very much!
(One of the perks of working at my public library a few years ago is that late fees don’t accrue on my “account” no matter how late my books are.
)
Your level of organization beats mine.
I guess that means I’m a bigger slacker than you. Oi.
oh Rhonda, your so not alone girl. Its hard sometimes too ‘casue it says that how we keep our homes and such are how we are on the inside. Maybe I should throw that out the window as crap – what do you say?
Rhonda! I found your blog… I will be reading forever now.
Hooray for Rhonda updating her blog now! BFF!!
