So, I’ve decided that the way people get jobs is through networking. They know somebody who knows somebody who knows about an opening at their company. And since I am officially horrible at networking, I don’t know how to find a job. Anybody know of any openings?
Plus, my resume sucks. I don’t know how to make myself sound cooler than I really am. And I’ve been out of college 6 years, and really only had one real job. How does one make that look good?
Since I haven’t found a real job yet, (I’m waiting tables a few nights a week), I have been spending my time beging domestic. I planted a vegetable garden and lots of flowers. I made grape jelly this morning from grapes from my backyard. I’ve made lots of lemonade. And I love to bake, but since I live alone, I don’t have anyone to bake for really, which is sad. I made a cushion for my porch swing…and have made lots of greeting cards. Fun times. That’s my exciting life.
My name is Rhonda. I am blessed to live in a beautiful place out in the country with my wonderful husband. In addition to our "real" jobs (I work at a garden center and he is a teacher), we have a small farm where we raise vegetables, eggs and chickens to sell at local Farmer's Markets. We are currently fixing up/remodeling a house into which we will soon be moving...hopefully. In my free time, (what is that?) I enjoy traveling, cooking, crafty projects, reading and watching the sun set on the hills.
I know of no jobs in California.
Who said anything about jobs in California?
What kind of job are you looking for?
Wasnt your degree in like.. bible studies or something?.. I cant remember.. but.. have you looked into any church work?.. are you interested in that at all.. you would be great with kids I think…
Im suprised none of the guys have asked for the bake goods to be sent to them!
Yes, I was totally about to say . . . you can bake for me!
Rhonda, I totally know how you feel about not having anyone to bake for!! I was just thinking that the other day when I wanted to make some sort of berry crisp but realized that I didn’t want to eat it, just make it. So I didn’t.
I think the suggestion about looking into ministry jobs might be a really cool thing… I know there are places in magazines that advertise openings – my dad has helped on the search committee at church for a youth pastor and other pastors and stuff, so I could find out that kind of stuff for you. There are often some great children’s ministry openings, specially in bigger churches if you’re willing to move.
