I have no desire to wait tables forever. But I don’t really have any desire to have a “career”. (I want to be a wife and mom)
I really think I should probably focus on pursuing something other than serving beer to drunk men every night. I have a bachelor’s degree, but these days that’s not really all that helpful.
I’m thinking about going back to get my teaching credential…but there are also lots of different Master’s programs that I would be interested in. But do I want to go into further debt?
My problem is that I want to do it all. I’m interested in lots of things…most of which don’t make any money.
So, what should I do with my life?
My name is Rhonda. I am blessed to live in a beautiful place out in the country with my wonderful husband. In addition to our "real" jobs (I work at a garden center and he is a teacher), we have a small farm where we raise vegetables, eggs and chickens to sell at local Farmer's Markets. We are currently fixing up/remodeling a house into which we will soon be moving...hopefully. In my free time, (what is that?) I enjoy traveling, cooking, crafty projects, reading and watching the sun set on the hills.
If you are thinking about teaching, why not apply to be an aide in a classroom? You can probably do that during the day, and take classes at night. Most districts have great insurance. Also, summers off (bonus!) to take even more classes. Just an idea…
Get married? :duck:
easier said than done.
You could also do the online college thing. AIU Online has a couple of good Masters degrees. You can do your homework when you have the time, instead of working your schedule around them. And they accept Federal Loans as payment.
My wife’s goal was to get married and have kids. And we have two now… so I think she met her goal pretty well. Personally, I think that is a great goal to have.
