I promised some people that I would update my blog. Though I don’t have anything profound to say, as usual.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks. My grandpa passed away recently. He was 92, so it wasn’t totally unexpected. But it was still hard. He has been a huge part of my life the past couple of years, so it leaves a big void. But what an amazing man. He rarely complained. He was very positive even when life was hard. And he loved Jesus with all his heart. I could learn a few things from him.

And here is a bunch of my family with him at easter:

In other news, I really want to get chickens. But I don’t think I will anytime soon. First, I’d have to build a coop. My brother is making raised beds for my garden, which I’m very excited about. Hopefully it will thwart the gophers and moles.
Boring update. Sorry. I have lots to say but don’t have the energy to put it into words right now.
My name is Rhonda. I am blessed to live in a beautiful place out in the country with my wonderful husband. In addition to our "real" jobs (I work at a garden center and he is a teacher), we have a small farm where we raise vegetables, eggs and chickens to sell at local Farmer's Markets. We are currently fixing up/remodeling a house into which we will soon be moving...hopefully. In my free time, (what is that?) I enjoy traveling, cooking, crafty projects, reading and watching the sun set on the hills.
I was wondering, when you were asking about songs for a funeral, if he’d finally passed.
sorry to hear about him passing.
but i liked seeing the pictures.
i hope the raised beds come out okay. good luck building the chicken coop, but be careful of the wolves!
sorry to hear about that. i miss my grandfather, too. but yay for an update.
I’m sorry to read about your grandfather, rhonda… it’s hard even if you know it’s coming.
On another note, you pretty much do all the things I want ALL the time. I was just thinking the other day how i want chickens eventually… and well, a garden is a given.
Hello Rhonda. So nice to meet you. I was surfing the web, looking for the lyrics to Amy Grant’s song (All I Ever Want to Be) and the search directed me to your blog site. I read some things you have posted, and think you are a gifted writer. May the Lord help you in your difficult time .. with your grandfather’s passing. The Good Lord has his hand upon your life, and will comfort you (I’m sure). You are indeed blessed to have Christian family members. There are very few in my family .. very few. I shall pray for you my friend.
Chuck .. Columbus, OH
P.S. wonderful photos
