Matrix:Reloaded reviews

Here are various reviews I’d like to read of The Matrix: Reloaded after I see it next week. Please, if you know of anything other well thought of folks have said, share.

Oh, and then there’s Nate Wilson’s review in the latest Credenda. I haven’t yet read it, but my wife tells me it’s rather scathing.

Animatrix

Last night, due to several positive things I’d heard about it and being excited to see The Matrix: Reloaded on Tuesday, we watched Animatrix. What a bad idea.

I don’t know who it is that enjoys watching cartoons of women in their underwear, but it sure isn’t me. And why would anyone want to watch a photo-realistic computer animation of a man and a woman cutting their clothes off of each other? And, more troubling, why didn’t it seem to bother anyone else?

Anyhow, the best part of Animatrix, the only part that was worth watching, was the backstory it gave in The Second Renaissance parts I and II , and the various little details in the others.

I read somewhere about someone liking the haunted house one, Beyond. I thought that one was okay, kind of fun. But I didn’t get any message out of it as this person did. Maybe I’m just too left brained or something.

The whole experience was terribly disappointing.
