Does an individual have the authority to declare another individual a heretic? Or even a particular teaching heresy, for that matter?

Or is it an ecclesiastical term which the Church alone has authority to use?

I mean, once the Church has declared a particular teaching heresy (or person a heretic), then obviously individuals can then refer to such a person or teaching as a heretic/heresy. But can an individual rightfully do that before the Church weighs the matter and makes a decision?

I had a great, great weekend. Action packed, adventure filled. It started out Friday morning by making some special breakfast for Megan, and giving her her presents and just enjoying the morning with her.

Then I had to come in to work to give a test, and as soon as they finished (an hour later) I was off again, back home.

Friday night we had the 2nd annual Providence Church Reformation Day Ball, and it was a blast. My only complaint is that it was over too soon. Before I even thought about the time, two hours and fourty-five minutes had passed.

Saturday our church gathered together and had the initiatory All Saints Day Games. The men competed in various activies (100yd dash, 400 meter, push-ups, shot put, pull ups…). I willingly entered the 400 meter race, openly admitting that it was a spiritual exercise in humility. I got second place in shot put, which put points on the board for me. I was satisfied with that. There was also a 250 lb. slab of steel that we were going to use for competition. The goal was to drag it the furthest in a 20 second time period. By the time we got around to that event, everyone was either too tired or gone.
We also had events for the children and ladies and couples to participate in. And we all had a big picnic together. A great day.

Sunday we had the privlege of gathering together and worshiping our Savior and God, and in celebrating His covenant meal with Him. Then, later in the evening, we gathered together again for Psalm singing. Although, it was only about half psalm singing. We’re also trying to learn some of the hymns in Cantus Christi. Tis By Thy Strength is quickly becoming a favorite.

I’m still tired from it all, but at the same time, thoroughly energized.
