Today I went to Best Buy to buy some paper cd sleeves. I buy blank cds on a spindle, and so use those little sleeves to store them, etc. Well, I grabbed the box of 100 by habit. That’s what I always get, since it’s cheaper per sleeve. Well, at least that’s what you would think. I happened to stay in the aisle a little while, just browsing. I’m glad I did, too. I happened to look back at the sleeves, and realized that there was something wrong. The pack of 100 was $11.99. The pack of 50, though, was $4.99. I had to do the math a couple times to make sure I was right… Why would it be cheaper to buy the pack of 50? I don’t know… but that’s what I got.

This morning, while driving to work, I did some quick calculations, and determined that, each year, I spend one month of time driving to and from work.
Yikes.

Under Grace
this post from Peter Leithart is pretty dang cool.
Being ‘under grace’ (as opposed to ‘under the law’), far from meaning nothing is required of us, means we are servants of Christ… bound to righteousness.

So, yesterday evening, thanks to the hospitality of the Hurts, we (Providence folk) were able to spend several hours with the Wilsons.
I was able to tell Doug about all you dougwils.com addicts, and that a week was too long without a post (aka a hit). He said he’s saved up some stuff, so when he finally does post, it will be worth the wait.
We (the men) kept throwing questions at him, and he graciously answered them for us, the best he could. Most importantly, he said that his characterization of Harry Potter (from last year’s ACCS conference) could very well be wrong, and he’s open to correction.
Topics on the interrogation included myth and reality, storytelling, the future of the CRE, baptism, head coverings, the covenant status of unbaptized children of believers, his songs, beer, God’s law, and whatever else flitted through our minds.
Nancy, I’m sure, also spent a lot of time talking, but I only talked with her when she collected Doug to go back to their hotel to get some sleep. I did, however, get shocked disappointment when she learned that it was me that provided the audio.
