good standing.

Andrew Sandlin recently gave a (friendly) criticism of the Federal Vision.

In part, he said,

Salvation in the end is nearly reduced to getting baptized and staying in good standing with the church, a naturalization of the Christian life.

And I have to ask myself, what’s wrong with that? I guess it’s one’s understanding of what being in good standing in the Church is. To me, that means believing God, loving Jesus, being faithful. All that. If a person doesn’t have faith in Christ, they aren’t in good standing in the Church.

zoo.

We’re heading up to the National Zoo this weekend. So, if you’re in town, go to the zoo, and you may see me and my troop tromping around. Looking at monkeys and bears and tigers and all the other fun animals.

I’m especially excited for the girls. They’re going to have the best time… I am succesfully forming them into little biology nerds. They love this stuff. I’ll have to remember to take plenty of pictures, and also video.
