Andrew Sandlin recently gave a (friendly) criticism of the Federal Vision.
In part, he said,
Salvation in the end is nearly reduced to getting baptized and staying in good standing with the church, a naturalization of the Christian life.
And I have to ask myself, what’s wrong with that? I guess it’s one’s understanding of what being in good standing in the Church is. To me, that means believing God, loving Jesus, being faithful. All that. If a person doesn’t have faith in Christ, they aren’t in good standing in the Church.
