childrens bible

Posted by: richard   in Dinner Conversation, Everyday Things

Not too long ago we got The Child’s Story Bible for the girls. It looks good, but it wasn’t what we are expecting. There really aren’t any pictures, and there is a lot of text. I’m sure we’ll get a lot of use out of it in the coming years, but right now most of it is too much for them to listen to in one sitting.

Still, Megan was reading to them from it the other day, and they had it out and were looking through it. In the beginning there are several pictures of major events… being cast out of the garden, noah, abraham…

Geneva was looking at those pictures and asking about them, and so I was just telling her the stories about it. She was very interested in it. She kept asking for more and more details about different things, and, of course, the perennial question ‘Why?’. It was a lot of fun for me to teach her those things, and answer her questions. I think she had fun, too.

primer.

   Posted by: richard   in Movies

We watched primer last night. I liked it. It was just the type of movie that I like… twists and turns and a plot that boggles the mind. I didn’t get half the movie. I need to watch it again to really understand it. Maybe even a third time with the director’s commentary on.

I’ve been reading some things on the forum at primermovie.com, and it is even more confusing than I thought.
