primer primer

I thought I’d mention that the movie I posted about earlier this week, Primer was written and directed by Shane Carruth. Shane is a christian man.

It’s wonderfully exciting for me to see this film that is of such high caliber (though, perhaps could have been improved with a slightly higher budget… it only cost $7000 to make) being produced by a christian. Finally!

And it’s not preachy or even explicitly christian in theme. It’s just a quality movie about the human predicament. Tells a good story, and teaches valuable lessons as well. My friend Tim wrote a very good review. Be sure you watch the film before reading it, though!

Wow.

We watched this last night, and really enjoyed it. But talk about mind-bending! I thought I grasped a good bit of the plot, but as I started reading about the film, I realized how little I “got” my first time watching. I’m definitely going to need multiple viewings. Good thing it’s not due back for a week …

Amen to that. We watched it again last night… which brins my total viewings up to five. It was due back last night before midnight, and I dropped it off a little after 11.
