Sting
Did you know Sting (Yes, that one… the wrestler) is a christian now?

I was flipping through channels last night (something that is extremely rare for me. I mean… it’s rare enough for me to watch tv… but to flip channels? Wow), and when I went by TBN, I saw some guy they were treating like he was famous. He looked like a football player to me. So I paused to see who it was. Turns out it was sting. I watched a bit… and he actually said really good things. He kept quoting Scripture, and talking about the need for repentance. The ‘pastor’ that was host of the show was a bumbling fool… every time he opened his mouth nonsense came out. But Sting was right on.
Then, at the end of the segment, the host asked him to pray.. and instead of praying he looked at the camera and basically presented the gospel… the need for salvation, how christ died for sinners, and by faith we’re declared not guilty in Christ. Then the bumbling fool talked some more.
But anyhow… he has a website
He appears to be steeped in some evangelical silliness, but all the same, I was impressed with what he said.

It looks like his pastor may be his brother. Interesting stuff. I wasn’t watching wrestling when he looked like those pics on the website. I was watching “back in the day” when he had a blonde flat-top thing going. It seems like he was on WCW when WWF was ruling.
He said something about going to church with his brother. He didn’t mention him being the pastor, but I guess 2+2=4.
I remember seeing him like you remember him, but I also went through a phase where I’d watch Monday Nitro with some friends… and that’s when he had ‘the crow’ face paint, and carried a bat.
Somehow I missed the “the wrestler” in the parentheticals and thought you were talking about the singer. I’m glad I cliked on the link, ’cause I was quickly corrected in my understanding. I’ve never even heard of Sting the wrestler
I didn’t even think about the singer Sting. I should put a picture in…
Yeah, the picture helps. I, too, overlooked the wrestler part of the post and ended up really confused.
Well, maybe one day both Stings will be converted. That would be cool.
Indeed.
Although, something tells me the other Sting might not be too keen to appear on TBN.
Which would also be cool.
Yeah, I’m glad you posted the picture, because I didn’t click the link earlier, and I’m sure I would have gone home and told my husband that Sting the singer was a Christian.
I haven’t heard of Sting the wrestler, but I’m glad he’s a believer
i immediately thought of sting the wrestler.
hahaha.
i have heard his testimony before, its cool.
richard,
do you remember the jadidi(sp?) chair?
Oh yeah… the jadidi chair, named after the most horrible wrestling move known to mankind (which was named after the wrestler that first, albeit inadvertantly, used the move).
exactly.
