Amazon PRIME trial

Check this page to see if you’re qualified for a free 4 month trial of Amazon Prime.

It gives you free 2 day shipping for any order, and 3.99 overnight shipping. Especially nice with Christmas coming up.

Normally, it’s $79 a year. But for whatever reason they’re giving 4 month free trials to certain members. Just make sure you’re logged in, and visit the link above.

They say you’ll get an opportunity to opt out before they charge your credit card (which you put in for the free trial). But I’m going to make sure I do it myself.

I’ve been doing Amazon Prime for a while, and I’ve found that it makes me use them far more often. Good for them, and I’m getting my money’s worth out of the shipping, to be sure.

Yeah, I think it’s a great deal if you a) order often enough or, b)have the money for it.

I only place four or five orders a year, or so, and even then I make sure they’re $25 or more so I get free supersaver shipping. Which takes like two weeks… but it’s free.

Free second day shipping is awesome.

I think that you have to decide whether it would make you order more often from them or not. Would you order things from them that you might otherwise buy locally, but will go through them to save a little money since you won’t pay for the shipping? Do that often enough, and you’re ahead.

I know that I sometimes use them as a proxy for things I’d buy here in town because my time is pretty limited, and because I can save a few bones.

Does it only apply to books, or other items as well?

Phil: It’s applicable to anything in the store.

Just make sure you cancel it before your time is up, or they’ll charge you the $79 – as they did me – and NOT refund it ( I canceled 7 days too late and I’m battling them for my $79).

Better yet follow this link to see how to turn off auto-renew ahead of time so you don’t forget to turn off the renewal and get charged the $79.
