ID curriculum
When I read stuff like this, I get annoyed and it bothers me. I get a little bit mad. People are like, ‘oh, ID isn’t science! It’s just religion! blahblahblah.’ As if evolution is actually objective and empirically based! Guess what… it isn’t! It is founded entirely on philosophy. There is as much empirical evidence that life sprang forth unexpectedly from chemicals, and then proceeded to develop and evolve from single-celled organisms on up to everything living that we see today, as there is that life was designed. At least as much.
So it really burns me that people are going around saying evolution is empircal science, but design isn’t. That’s crap.
But… what annoys me even more is why so many christians are fighting for design in the government schools. Like that makes a difference.

I’m lazy.
That’s why I don’t have much good to say here.
I could put up some good, interesting posts. But, that would mean I’d have to spend time and put effort into composing them, and clarifying what I mean and all that rot.
And, really, I just don’t want to do that.
Same thing with comments on blogs, or messageboard posts. I just don’t want to go through all the rigmarole of it all.
So… that’s it. At least, though, most people these days check their blogs through some sort of rss feed, so they don’t actually visit the blog each day, only to be disappointed (I guess?) that there’s no new content, or, if there is something new, it isn’t very thoughtful. Anyhow.
Don’t expect much of anything ’round here.

VA Election
So Tim Kaine pretty decisively won the Virginia governorship.
We actually did vote, but only at the very last minute. I literaly decided during dinner, and stopped midway to go vote, then came home and finished.
Last week George Bush called us. I mean, really. He did. So did Jerry Kilgore and George Allen and a few other high profile politicians. These men took the time out of their very busy schedule to personally call us (and the thousands of other Virginians they no doubt called) and ask us to give our support to Kilgore. How could we possibly refuse?

One Fine Day
This past weekend we watched One Fine Day. Megan had been wanting to watch it for a some time, so we finally got around to it.
It had some cute parts, and I didn’t get bored watching it, but it didn’t really do much for me. Just an average sort of film. That has some cheesiness to it.

Batman Begins
Let’s see… it’s been two and a half weeks since we watched this film. Don’t know why it took so long for me to write about it.
I enjoyed it, and it’s worth watching. I agree with what just about everyone has said… it is the best Batman movie (with second place being the first). It rewrites the story, so there’s no continuity with the rest of the films (only the general Batman story), which is fine with me. Thinking back on the whole ‘have you ever danced with the devil on a pale moon night’ thing is pretty lame.
I was slightly disappointed when we watched the movie, though. From what I had read, I was expecting it to be a real movie, as opposed to a comicbook movie. But it isn’t. It is definitely comic book status. Which isn’t a bad thing… it’s a really good comicbook movie. I just was expecting it to be different. So I was a little disappointed that it didn’t turn out how I was expecting it, but it didn’t last long.
I didn’t find the movie to have anything objectionable for a mature viewer. There are a few scary scenes that you might want to keep the kids away from, but that’s all that I can remember as far as a warning goes.
Spoiler here: I don’t think Batman made the right decision in the end. I don’t think not saving whatshisface was any different from killing him in that situation. So Batman wanted to avoid murdering people, but I don’t think he was successful. So he lost some moral integrity there (that the film portrays him as hanging on to).

Trinity Presbyterian Church podcast
I went ahead and made a podcast of sermons posted on Trinity Presbyterian Church‘s website. I think they’re all Rich Lusk.
The feed url is http://feeds.feedburner.com/trinitysermons
It’s like the Christ Church one… I have to enter the sermons in manually after they’re posted. But I check the site pretty regularly… shouldn’t be much more than a day or two for the podcast to be updated.

Halloween
The girls went trick-or-treating for the first time last night. We went to seven houses, and two of them weren’t home (or didn’t answer their door). They didn’t look like they were home, but we went anyhow because they were our friends and we wanted them to see the girls.
Geneva was a fairie princess, Ashley was a puppy dog, and Fiona was a little bear. All very cute.
The best part of the night, though, was coming how to the pumpkin that Megan had carve… Strong Sad. I was very excited. I don’t think anyone that came to our house knew who he was. Disappointing. I’ll post pictures later.
