Is it a joke?
Some people can look at something like this, and find it laughable and irrational. Other folks can look at it, though, and be edified and encouraged.
What do you suppose makes the difference between the two reactions?

Um… I’m reluctant to say anything for fear it may show me to be on the “wrong” side, but I thought that dialogue was funny, er silly.
Its the beauty of things written to be intentionally ambiguous.
