Manly
I know tradition says that when babies are baptized, they wear white flowy gown type things. Even boys. But, I’m just not down with that. Chalk it up to not wanting to stay frozen in the 17th century, but we opted to give Phinehas something a bit more manly…

As you can see, he is deep in contemplation. Feel free to offer suggestions on what he may be thinking about.

That outfit rocks. Luckily, a white flowy gown will be easy for our little girl, when we finally have her baptized, when we finally find a church we’re comfortable with…and at the rate this church search is going, it won’t even matter that I’ve become a paedobaptist. She’ll be reciting the Apostles’ Creed on her own…
He is contemplating Calvin’s section on baptism from the Institutes… I am assuming you have already read it to him, no?
Bravo! I, too, eschewed the feminine flowy gown thing in favor of bow ties and button-up shirts for both our boys. It was a definite struggle for the first one (there being a staunch contingent of girly-gown defenders at the time), but afterwards everybody saw how classy a boy looks in a bow tie and it was smooth sailing for the second.
As for his thoughts, it appears to me that he is clearly savoring a finger-full of The paedoBaptism, and perhaps trying to place the exact nature of its ingredients.
I dig the duds.
I think he’s contemplating slaying a dragon, then settling down for the evening with a pipe and a snifter full of brandy…
AWESOME outfit. That completely rocks.
Glad the baptism went well
