Jason Collett-Here’s To Being Here
I got a free song from this album on amazon, and liked it enough to get the whole thing. So I didn’t get all the tracks from emusic… why buy a song I already own? But emusic has an exclusive bonus track, so it’s still 12 songs from emusic.
Digital storage is pretty tight, so I ordered an external hard drive. I deliberated for a while on which to purchase, and finally made my decision, a SimpleTech Pro Drive FP-UFE/500. The three year warranty along with a free 2GB of online storage are what convinced me to pay a little more for this product.
It came in good time, and I excitedly opened the box… to be disappointed by a strange rattling sound coming from within the enclosure. It sounded like a screw had come loose, and was rolling all around inside there.
So I sent it back for a replacement. I got the new one in just a couple days, and again opened it with great excitement. Only to, again, find the rattling sound. This time coupled with a shifting of the contents. So I’ve arranged to return that one, this time just for a refund, and I’m back to the drawing board. So Sad.
Andrew Osenga - The Morning
I know, I know… I should have had this long ago. For those not familiar, Andrew Osenga is currenlty a member of the band Caedmon’s Call, and was once in the band The Normals. Good stuff.
I also got a few singles from Mr. Osenga. The two bonus tracks on the remastered version of Photographs, The High School Band (acoustic version) and New Mexico (late-night piano version), and also the regular version of High School Band from that album. I already own the original version of the album, but I wanted to see if I could hear the difference on the remaster.
Then, I also got a single from Matthew Perryman Jones called Save You.
Matthew Perryman Jones - Throwing Punches in the Dark
MPJ’s music has been on my list to get for some time now, but never high enough priority to buy a cd. Which put him sort of in limbo. I discovered today that he’s on emusic, and so, hey, nothing’s stopping me now. And, this album is ten tracks, which just happens to be my remaining download count. So yay! And downloads refresh on Thursday, and I’ve already got a couple albums pegged to download.
Boys Noise: My Moon My Man
Just a single again, this time a remix of a Feist song. I’ve never heard of the band remixing it, and the remix is pretty crazy. For $.25 I thought I’d give it a shot, since Feist has become one of my favorite artists since my introduction to her several years ago. Such that I spent real money for me and Megan to go see her in Charlottesville next month.
So, one of my emusic downloads was Stars album, In Our Bedroom After the War. It has turned out to be my favorite of the month easily… it’s been a while since I’ve liked an album as much as this one.
So be sure to check out the free song available on amazon.com, The Night Starts Here. The rest of the album is just as good, if you’re looking for some new music.
