Superfly is expected to announce the Vegoose Music Festival with-in the
coming weeks, to be held on the surrounding fields of Las Vegas, NV -
Oct 28-30 with a final show Oct 31 at the Sam Boyd Silver Bowl. The
festival will be similar to the Bonnaroo Music Festival which is being held
in Manchester, TN this June.
In addition to the festival performances, which will be over by seven
o’clock each of the three days, several of the band’s will be performing
in groups of two or three at various clubs and arenas during the
evenings of the festival. Dave Matthews Band and Trey Anastasio will play the Thomas and Mack Center the first two evening’s, while moe., Umphrey’s
McGee, Phil Lesh and Friends and others will share the stage at the MGM
Grand Garden Arena on night’s two and three. Pearl Jam will play with
The Black Crowes on evening three at the Thomas and Mack Center, while
right down the road at the House of Blues, The John Mayer Trio will
share their Blues for fans. There will be minimal onsite camping and
minimal onsite activities, which makes this festival quite different from the
Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, moe., The String Cheese Incident, The
Black Crowes, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Trey Anastasio, Umphrey’s McGee,
Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh and Friends, Mike Gordon and Leo Kottke, The John Mayer Trio, Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, 311, Keller Williams
and many more to be announced.

marika, whoa! how much are tickets?

I have no idea. get this: someone on the WH message boards posted that. When i first saw it, I got so so excited… a little too excited because I forwarded it on to everyone. But now after having slept on it, I’m a little skeptical. I guess when it’s actually officially announced we’ll know!

well, i’d be intrigued. not sure if i’d go. i read something that it’d be similar to jazz fest. jazz fest for major acts like that is not all that fun. i guess we’ll see.

Following up on this earlier rumor entry regarding a New Orleans Jazz Fest style music festival in Vegas scheduled for around Halloween…here is the latest report from Walfredo.com.

05-10-05 “Couple of things were worked out this weekend.

1. This will be announced in late June with tickets going on sale in mid July.

2. The music will be in one location – Sam Boyd Silver Bowl and the soccer fields surrounding. Approx 10 acres.

3. Confirmed acts: WSP, DMB, Trey, Phil Lesh(not the Dead), and Pearl Jam. The Pearl Jam folks where here on Saturday to work out the last minute details and everything went smooth.

4. The name is of the event is Vegoose(sp) Music Festival. This is not confirmed, but the leading candidate right now.

Things are moving more quickly now and I should have all the whole line up shortly. I am not sure who is closing this festival; that is one of the reasons that the Pearl Jam people were in town. I don’t have a ton of info on that right now.”

yeah, that’s what i read. the festival would really have to be something awesome. i mean, i’m closer to bonaroo, but i don’t go because of how crowded it would be.

i’m listening to the version on the ‘stand up’ companion cd that came with the album. i’ve listened to that more than ‘stand up’ itself.

OHHH, i got mine @ target for 9.98… so I don’t have the BONUS. Hey, want to have a burning party and get that bonus cd to me?! heh.

ha, i was a sucker and preordered it. did you get the cool case for it though? the case i got is different from anything else i’ve gotten. i like it. even if i feel i got ripped off. the dvd side is worth some money though, and the bonus cd. i’ll see what i can do. i like it though since it has ‘joyride’ and ‘sugar will’ that somehow did NOT make ‘stand up’.

Did you read my Stand Up review?! I wrote about how bummed I was with the new songs from last summers’ tour not making the cut! I don’t think the cd case is anything particularly special, so you must have gotten the better deal. Anytime you feel like putting together those extras together for your pal Marika, you go right ahead…. haha!

yes, but i haven’t commented on it since i got the cd. i listened to it last week. i find it quite subpar, but better than ‘everyday’. the 2nd song, i forget the name, it SUCKS! i think they’ve gotten to a point of “we can put out crap and people will buy it. let’s just mess around and not try to make anything good”. just my opinion though.

sugarwill is good… were you on last tour? such a disappointment they only chose hello again for the new album and yet sugar will with its siiiiick jam and thing, which i like because i was there for its birth at bonnaroo were not included… what gives?
