yesterday was proving to be a pretty trying day. today is the clemson/miami game, and like i said before, my plan was to go to the same place i watched the a&m game. that was until i heard that my great aunt’s house was going to be cleaned up today. i was totally committed to going to metairie today to help clean out her fridge and rip out some carpet. family is more important than a football game. but dang it, i was going to be missing watching the game! then yesterday i still had not heard about my job. the only news i had really heard was that they were going to stop paying us after next week. they were not going to lay us off, just stop paying us until we could get back to our regular offices. i was getting nervous. i contacted my friend laurin to see if she had heard from a guy at work she might be working for. she was able to give me my boss’ phone number. i was completely prepared to call it today to find out what was going on since still no one had called me.

in the interim, last night i was going to go out with my uncle and his lady friend. i don’t know whether or not to call her his g/f or not yet, so LF will work.

THEN, before we are leaving my uncle’s house, a guy from my office calls me and says “you’re on a list of people to call. when will you be available to go to huntsville?” so now i’m on a list to go to huntsville on october 1st. (i’ll be in touch geof!) i really have no particulars other than that. someone is supposed to call me next week to let me know. and after that, we were leaving this swank sushi bar place (i did not eat anything raw, just red wine and fried shrimp) my mom calls and leaves a message saying they have plenty of people to clean out my great aunt’s house, and i don’t have to worry about going.

so now i’m going to go this afternoon to watch the clemson game, i no longer have to worry about work. and i’m hopeful i can talk to the contractor today or tomorrow about his estimate and get things rolling on that end. oh, and as far as what will become of my house while i’m gone, my friend ryan called me to ask if he could rent out my spare bedroom, because he found someone who wants to rent out his condo for almost 2x what ryan is paying. the housing boom has begun!

oh, and congrats to my friends in orlando on their new baby. :)
