With all that’s been going on the past couple of months, it was awesome yesterday to not do anything. There wasn’t a game on TV I had to watch, there was no grad school class meeting to tie into, there was nowhere I had to be. I slept till 10 am, it was the latest I could sleep. I rolled out of bed and based on a FB status update, popped in the first dvd of The War. I had gotten the set last Christmas but had not watched any of it. It was great! With more time over the holidays, hopefully I’ll be able to watch the rest of it before the end of the year. The most interesting part to me was the people who kept repeating “I knew then that my life had changed” when they saw Pearl Harbor happen or heard about it on the radio. I mean, I guess my generation was supposed to have that with 9/11, but somehow I don’t think it was the same thing.

I took an epic nap this afternoon during the Iron Bowl. I was able to stretch out on my long sofa and sleep. My sofa may not be the best sofa in the world, but for naps it is amazing.

To end the evening, I watched A Fistful of Dollars. It was on youtube! Apparently there are movies on youtube you can watch. Not many blockbusters, but Clint Eastwood as the Man With No Name? Why not? The only thing is they put commercials in the middle of scenes rather than at natural breaks, but I can deal with that.
