My life is a song part one
It’s amazing how at different parts of my life, I’ve been able to find a song that speaks to that moment. Not only that, but a song that describes exactly what I’m going through and what I’m thinking at that time in my life.
I thought I’d compile a list of some of the songs that I’ve “lived” in the past few years. Don’t be surprised if a lot of them are by the same artist.
- “What You Want” by Caedmon’s Call - About a year ago, maybe a little longer, I found myself completely head over heels for a particular girl. She wasn’t feeling it though…in fact, in no way whatsoever did she feel the same way I did. I sang along to this one quite often during that period.
- “Stupid Kid” by Caedmon’s Call - This one comes up pretty often. I get stuck in my complacency pretty often, and I also get caught up in the expectations I and others have for myself.
- “Let That Be Enough” by Switchfoot - There are times when I don’t feel God’s presence, and when I need to know He’s there. This song speaks to those times.
- “Table for Two” by Caedmon’s Call - Every single guy in the world should have this song in his catalogue. I’m not kidding.
- “All I Know” by Matt Wertz - So often I get wrapped up in all the “stuff” of life, and I have to go back to that place where I realize that all there is is God and myself, and that all that matters is what He did for me. I fall down so often, but how comforting it is to know He’s there to bandage up my skinned knees.
- “Behind A Smile” by Matt Wertz - How often we all live this one. I paint on this clown face so often, pretending like everything’s okay, when I’m so often broken inside. More than once I’ve cried while listening to this one.
That’s all for now…there are tons more…but I haven’t got the time. I’ll probable update this as time goes on
