Right on…
Breath of Fresh Air: Matt Wertz and Dave Barnes from Relevant.
Man, I gotta start posting more.
What happened to me?
Life is crazy. It’s been a busy spring. School is crazy, but it’s almost over, for which I am thankful. I can’t believe I graduate in only a few weeks. Youth group stuff has been crazy as well, as we’re preparing for summer and SUPERWOW. We got a youth revival deal comin up in May, with a band coming….and guess who’s opening? That’s right….yours truly.
I found out today that my best friend had never eaten at Subway before.
I was shocked and amazed.
Just finished reading Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant by Anne Tyler for English class.
Wow, what a novel. One of the best I’ve read in recent time. Her depiction of the dysfunctional family is right on, and you find yourself right there with the characters. I’ll probably post some more about the book later…but as for now, this is only a recommendation.
Get the book.
Read it.
I need words as wide as sky
I need a language large as this longing inside
I need a voice bigger than mine
I need a song to sing You that I’ve yet to find
I need you
I need you
To be here now
To hear me now
–David Crowder

the book is Hardy’s Far From The Madding Crowd
the quote is…
By making inquiries he found that the girl’s name was Bathsheba Everdene, and that the cow would go dry in about seven days.
that was interesting.
My dad says the word “irregardless” all the time. It drives me insane. It’s not a word dad. Not at all.
Yikes.
Well, I just looked it up. It IS in the dictionary. But only as another form of the CORRECT term, regardless.
Silly dad.
I hate your stinkin’ guts.
You make me vomit.
You’re like the scum between my toes.
Love, Alfalfa.
I love that movie
I’m sitting alone in my bedroom, listening to David Crowder’s “You Alone”.
I listen to a lot of praise and worship music, and I’m always trying to find new songs that we can do in my youth group (seeing as how I’m the music guy and all). You Alone is by no means a new song. We’ve been doing it for years. But it never fails that every time I hear it, every time I sing it….I start crying. I don’t know why. Just the amazing profoundness of those statements. “You alone are Father, you alone are good, you alone are savior, you alone are God”. And the bridge, the “I’m Alive” part always gives me chills.
I’ve always heard complaints (and at times have supplied the complaints myself) that a lot of worship these days is too man-centered, focusing on us rather than God. This song always encourages me when I complain about that. It’s about HIM alone.
Well, things are really starting to get going in this whole “college preparation” thing. I pre-registered at Carson-Newman Saturday. I’ve got all my classes, and I already know what dorm room I’ll be in and who my roommate will be.
The hour is drawing nearer and nearer, and I can’t help but wonder (as my mom seems to continuously) how I’m going to survive on my own.
I’m sure it will work out….knock on wood.
