It’s been so long, oh such a long time…

Man, I really gotta get back into the posting groove.

This is pathetic.

Anyway, I’m a high school graduate now. It doesn’t really feel that much different. Except, the day after graduation, I woke up and thought, “What am I going to DO now?!” I have to go job hunting now. Oh joy. I’m finding out how much I really do love my friends at school, no matter how much I always say I don’t like my school. I’m really going to miss the last four years. HOWEVER, I could not be any more excited for the next few years of my life. I’m so pumped about going to Carson-Newman and experiencing the “college life.”

I was talking to our youth director Jeremy the other day, and he’s going to have some opportunities for me to play this summer, even some paying gigs, which will be great. I could always use more gas money.

One of my best friends, Matt, is moving to Nashvegas to go to Lippscomb University. I dunno what I’m gonna do. I told the dude he better be expecting many many phone calls. Most of my friends are my age or younger, and Matt is really the only guy I have to look up to and take advice from. I’m going to miss that.

Well, I guess I’ll go for the moment. Until next time…

An update

So the Youth Revival last weekend was great. The guys from North Creek are awesome, down to earth guys, and I really appreciate them allowing myself and my buddy Krusty to play with them.

p.s.–check out the journal…looks like somebody we all know and love got a mention?

The Loving Loss

someday I will be free
and I know that this pain won’t last forever
for it all will be a memory

I used to think I was deep
while staring into my shallow ends
the ends that justified my means
but I know I’m just like the others
falling when near the water

The New Look of Thunderbird

My mail client of choice, Mozilla’s Thunderbird, has a new look thanks to Jon Hicks.

Lookin’ good.

Man…

I love graduating. Can I say that again? I love graduating.

Getting money rules, and so does having no more high school…except I’m not quite done yet…but only another WEEK!

Seriously, though…I’m glad I finally started getting in my graduation money gifts from people, b/c I FINALLY was able to buy Chronicles, continuing my continuation of owning all of my favorite artists’ music.

And I’m diggin’ the disc. I may throw a song-by-song review up here later, but for now I have more to talk about…

but I’ll save those speculations for another post and song.

You (Belong to Me)

wrote this today…had the words in my head, and cranked it out. I only have one verse and a chorus so far though. It’s a bit cliche…but hey, that’s okay….right? no?

I get so tired of walking down this lonely road
Get so scared I get so far, so far away from home
Hoping for you to change the way I’m living now
Cause holding you is all it takes for me to get through this somehow
Somehow, I need you know, so…

Take my hand, hold it tight
We will walk into the night
Take you places you’ve never seen
Places beyond your wildest dreams
Go with me, and you will see
You belong to me
